An upright-type vacuum cleaner is provided to sterilize bacteria or a tick in a dust collection unit inside with a disinfection unit installed in between the dust collection unit and a motor chamber by re-circulating exhaust air which becomes hot to the dust collection unit with a suction motor. An upright-type vacuum cleaner comprises a body assembly(10), a suction brush(20), a suction hose(30) and a disinfection unit(40). The disinfection unit sterilizes bacteria and a tick among the air inhaled air to a dust collection unit(16) through the suction brush and the suction hose with heat of a suction motor(15). The disinfection unit, installed in a rear body(14) of the body assembly, includes a hot air circulation duct(44) and a stream passage conversion switch(42). The hot air circulation duct(44), installed between an outlet side of a motor chamber(13) and an intake pipe(19) of the dust collection unit, guides the air, ejected through the exhaust pipe(21) of a cyclone(17), to the intake pipe of the cyclone from the outlet side of the motor chamber.
