PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical and electrically conductive switch type active- matrix light-emitting element, which is manufactured using a small number of patterning processes and made suitable to produce a large size screen. SOLUTION: The element has a plurality of light-emitting elements 3, which are made up with a plurality of light emitting layers 31, arranged in a two-dimensional manner on a transparent electrode 2 formed on a transparent substrate 1 and a back surface electrode 32 formed on the back surface of the layers 31, a flexible insulation thin film 27 provided on the back surface side of a capacitor 6, data signal line column 23 which is formed on the inner surface of the film 27 in a stripe shape and is placed facing capacitor electrodes 16 and 18 with gaps and a scanning signal line column 28, which is formed on the outer surface of the column 23 to cross the column 23 orthogonally in a stripe shape. Electrostatic force is generated between the column 28 and the electrode 2 or the electrode 32 by scanning signals, the film 27 is bent toward the inner side, the column 23 and the electrodes 16 and 18 are connected, the capacitor 6 is charged and the elements 3 are driven. |
