<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for reducing carbon dioxide concentration capable of promoting reaction by well bringing carbon dioxide container in a flue gas into contact with lime water and accordingly efficiently decreasing the carbon dioxide concentration in the air. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of main nozzles 3 are arranged in the periphery of a discharge port 2 of a chimney 1 to make the height approximately same as the height of the discharge port 2 of the chimney 1. A plurality of upper auxiliary nozzles 5 are installed at positions higher than the main nozzles 3. A plurality of lower auxiliary nozzles 7 are installed at positions lower than the main nozzles 3. Lime water is jetting from all of the main nozzles 3, upper auxiliary nozzles 5, and lower auxiliary nozzles 7. A sensor 9 for carbon dioxide concentration in the flue gas is installed in the periphery of the discharge port 2 and a sensor 10 for a wind direction and velocity is installed in a lower part of the discharge port 2.
