Method and device for monitoring the operation of a vehicle, in particular a rail vehicle

The method involves storing of error messages in combination to associated local information in a data base. The error message is generated by driving components of a vehicle. A geographical area is indicated on a display device. The display device access the geographical map information containing the route of a vehicle and a part of the represented area is selected by the display device. The selected part of the area assigned error messages is selected form the data base. An independent claim is included for a device for monitoring drive of a motor vehicle.
