The device (1) has a case (2) with an ambient air inlet (3) and a treated air outlet (5), and a diffusion chamber (6) receiving an insert (7). An actuator (12) is used for driving the insert in rotation around a rotation axis (A). The insert has a cradle (15) carrying volatile agent cartridges (8, 9). The cradle is rotatively connected to the insert and freely mounted on the insert by axial translation. An extracting unit extracts the cradle out of the case by axial translation parallel to the axis (A).
