984,722. Wall-plugs. T. WEISZ. June 8, 1962 [June 22, 1961], No. 22238/62. Heading F2H. A wall plug 10 moulded from a thermoplastic material such as polyethylene consists of a tubular body 13 having two diametrically opposed slots 24, 25 formed therein and circumferential corrugations each having projections 20, 21 at diametrically opposed points on a diameter at right angles to the slots 24, 25. The corrugations comprise a succession of frusto-conical surfaces 18, cylindrical surfaces 17 and transverse annular surfaces 19, the projections being provided on the surfaces 17. On driving the plug into a hole in a wall, the projections 20, 21 are deformed and slightly bent around their point of attachment and then turned backwards. In a modification, the slots terminate at a greater distance from the inner terminal face, a plate p being clamped between the head of a screw and the frontal face of a wall. |
