APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR GENERATING MAC PDU IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

An apparatus for generating MAC PDU in mobile communication system and a method thereof are provided to prevent waste of resources by dynamically setting size of logical channel identifier. A transmitting apparatus of mobile communication system generates a MAC(Medium Access Control) header of a MAC PDU(Protocol Data Unit). When radio bearer information change is occurred, information required in MAC header generation is obtained(503). A MAC SDU(Service Data Unit) is confirmed by using the obtained information. Information of LCID(Logical Channel Identification) is dynamically set according to the confirmed MAC SDU(505). The MAC header is generated(507).
