METHOD FOR ADAPTIVELY GENERATING CHANNEL QUALITY INDICATOR ACCORDING TO THE DOWNLINK STATUS, AND USER EQUIPMENT FOR THE SAME

A method for generating adaptive channel quality indicator according to the downlink status and user equipment therefore are provided to adaptively set up the number of the frequency bandwidth and/or the width of the frequency bandwidth for the channel quality indicator measurement in consideration of the downlink channel state in the frequency selective channel of the mobile communication. The estimator(601) performs the prediction to the magnitude of the frequency bandwidth in which the user equipment is allocated. The setting unit(602) sets up the number of frequency bandwidth and the width of the unit frequency bandwidth generating the channel quality indicator, in order to minimize the difference of the double of the number of frequency bandwidth and the width of the unit frequency bandwidth generating the channel quality indicator from the size of the frequency bandwidth in which the user equipment is allocated. The measuring unit(603) measures the number of frequency bandwidth and the width of the unit frequency bandwidth generating the channel quality indicator set up by the setting unit and generates the channel quality indicator.
