A method of manufacturing a flexible display device is provided to facilitate the attachment/detachment of a carrier substrate in the finishing stage of a process after forming a thin film transistor, and make it possible to perform the process at a high temperature. A method of manufacturing a flexible display device comprises the following steps of: forming an adhesive layer including the polyimide on a carrier substrate(S10); laminating a flexible substrate on the adhesive layer(S20); forming a film transistor array on the flexible substrate(S30); forming a display layer on the flexible substrate on which the film transistor array is formed and forming an opposite substrate on the display layer(S40); mounting a driving part for operating the display layer(S50); and stripping the carrier substrate by irradiating the laser or light on the carrier substrate(S60).
