A television and an operation mode control method are provided to supply channel edit menu and information corresponding to an operation mode automatically by determining that a user does not recognize a current input mode. A broadcasting signal processor(20) received according to a selected mode is provided, and it is checked whether a key signal is inputted from a user. If so, it is determined whether the key signal is a key signal that a current operation mode supports. If not so, a frequency of the inputted key signal is counted. If the key signal is inputted more than a predetermined frequency, broadcasting program information and channel edit information OSD are displayed. |
