摘要 An image quality correction apparatus and a method thereof are provided to detect a coordinate system and a type of a defect pixel, and move a color coordinate system by using an image edge motion vector so as to correct a color as much as a specific window size around the defect pixel. A defect pixel detection part(S100) detects a location of a defect pixel in which a loss block is generated with respect to the whole display panel coordinates. A storage(S102) stores a type and corresponding coordinate of the pixel determined as the loss block. An image edge detector(S104) detects an edge of an inputted image if a video signal is inputted. An edge motion vector detector part(S106) determines whether the detected image edge is positioned within a specific size window around the defect pixel. If so, the edge motion vector detector part detects a motion vector of the edge. A weight calculating part detects a defect pixel point within the window, and calculates a color weighted value of an adjacent pixel according to coordinates in which the defect pixel point is positioned. A defect pixel compensation part(S110) converts the color of the defect pixel into a color of the adjacent pixel by moving a color coordinate as much as the motion vector of the edge. Thereby, a compensation process is performed.
