<p>Exemplary embodiments of the present invention relate to a method for identifying defective pixels in an imaging device (100). The method comprises identifying a main direction (302, 304, 306, 308) in which color pixel values of a first grid of pixels and at least a second grid of pixels differ the least with respect to other directions, the first grid of pixels comprising a first color pixel (204) surrounded by a plurality of neighboring pixels and the at least a second grid of pixels comprising a second color pixel (226, 228) of another color component relative to the first pixel surrounded by a plurality of neighboring pixels. The method further comprises determining whether the first color pixel (204) or the second color pixel (226, 228) is defective based on comparisons of variation between color values in the main direction in the first grid relative to color values in the main direction in the second grid.</p> |
