An internal voltage generating circuit is provided to prevent a lowering effect of electric potential of an internal voltage and to generate a stable internal voltage by increasing temporarily a driving speed of an internal voltage generating circuit when the used amount of internal voltage is increased in a specific operation. An internal voltage generating circuit includes a control unit(100) and an internal voltage generating unit(200). The control unit receives a write start signal and a write stop signal and outputs an internal voltage enable signal. The internal voltage generation unit drives an internal voltage in response to the internal voltage enable signal.
