A commercial waffle maker has modular structure with a grid housing assembl y removably and rotatable mounted on a separate supporting base. The waffle grids are removably mounted in the grid housings with a single screw such that they may be easil y removed or replaced with interchangeable grids. The modular structure facilitates the mechanical parts of the device to be disassembled easily for thorough cleaning without having to shi p the entire device to another offsite facility. The electrical components are securely housed in fully sealed compartments to prevent electrical hazard during cleaning and operation of t he device.
