The separator for removing drops of liquid from a fluid (5) has a series of separator trays (3) mounted in a stack. These have collecting channels (31) for separated liquid which feed into collecting channels (32) at right angles which connect with a drain (41). Independent claims are included for: (A) separating apparatus incorporating the separator and a turbulence generator; and (B) a method for operating the separator.
