A VOD contents searching system and a method thereof are provided to search VOD contents efficiently by using meta data of MPEG-7 contents in a VOD contents service system using an IPTV network. A VOD(Video On Demand) contents searching system comprises the followings. A VOD server(300) stores a VOD content file which will be provided to a set top box(100) via an internet network(200). A meta data extraction server(500) extracts meta data from the VOD content file of the VOD server. A search server(400) stores the meta data extracted in the meta data extraction server(501). A VOD content file format of the VOD server is MPEG-7(Moving Picture Experts Group-7), and the metadata extraction server is MPEG-7 engine server. |
