A song contest system and a song contest method based on the Internet are provided to offer the same song accompaniment to various places, and to make a song contest performed by using obtained song scores in accordance with song accompaniment, thereby obtaining singing time or setting time from an opposite team. By a management server for managing a karaoke apparatus, accessible times as many as charges paid by a user are assigned(S101). Based on selected songs, the number of participants, and obtainable betting time information, a user's desired contest room is selected and connected(S102). According to size of added song scores, a winner team and a loser team are recognized or each song score is compared and matched to recognize the user's ranking(S103).
