PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology which makes it easier for a singer to intuitively and quickly predict a rhythm of a melody. SOLUTION: A control section 11 of a karaoke device 1 instructs a display section 13 to display an ellipse figures indicating each note constituting a guide melody, in such a way that, a pitch of each note is displayed in a display position of a screen vertical direction, sound generating timing of each note is displayed in the display position of a screen horizontal direction, and a sound generation time length is indicted by a figure width of the screen horizontal direction. At this point, the control section 11 detects separation of a beat in a guide melody data by using a beat data described in a header of a music piece data, and based on detection results, a separation line indicating the separation of the beat is displayed by overlapping the ellipse figure indicating each note, on the display section 13.
