PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring material and an automobile component using it, which can obtain high-luminance transmitted light having an optional hue by irradiation of the natural light, has excellent light-resistance and heat-resistance, and is prevented from aging discoloring. SOLUTION: On one surface side of a transparent base material 2 formed into a plane, rod-shaped grid materials 3, each of which is formed of a material having a refractive index higher than that of the base material 2 and has a rectangular cross section, are arranged in parallel at equal intervals, while a polarizing plate 4 is arranged on the other surface side of the base material 2.
