PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pottery kiln capable of lengthening a retention time of combustion gas in an article burning chamber and improving the burning efficiency of the article by directly bringing the combustion gas into contact with the article. SOLUTION: The product burning chamber 21 connected to a charcoal combustion chamber 24 is formed into a horizontal type. The charcoal combustion chamber 24 is positioned under the front wall 23 of the product burning chamber 21. A plurality of upper and lower exhaust vents 26, 27 are formed in the rear wall 25 of the product burning chamber 21 so as to be openable and closable at a side opposite to the charcoal combustion chamber 24. A vertically erected square narrow passage 28 for passing the combustion gas is formed between the charcoal combustion chamber 24 and the product burning chamber 21. The length direction of an upper end opening of the narrow passage 28 and the vertical directions of the exhaust vents 26, 27 are arranged in a crossed state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
