PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing with a sensor, inexpensive and superior in manufacturing efficiency for preventing the entry of foreign matters into the bearing while utilizing an existing bearing structure as it is. SOLUTION: The bearing with the sensor comprises an annular stationary ring 2, an annular rotary ring 4 rotatably arranged in opposition to the stationary ring, a plurality of rolling elements 6 rollingly incorporated between the stationary ring and the rotary ring, and the sensor for detecting the rotating condition of the rotary ring. The sensor has an annular encoder 12 fixed to the rotary ring via an annular holder 10, and a sensor element 16 arranged in opposition to the encoder and fixed to the stationary ring via an annular sensor housing 14. At a position where a gap between the sensor housing and the encoder communicates with the outside of the bearing, a foreign matter shielding mechanism (a foreign matter shielding plate 26) is provided for shielding the entry of foreign matters from the outside to the inside of the bearing.
