An apparatus and a method for verifying an image use while inserting a compression time into compressed video data are provided to verify image usage of the terminal during a video call and provide a service with information. An input unit(110) inputs various signals corresponding to the operation of a user to a controller(195). A display unit(120) is activated by the control of the controller with operation and outputs processed video data as the visual information to the outside. A storage(140) is a memory of storing video data inputted through a camera part(150) or an external input device with data for controlling the general operation of the portable terminal.
