PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device and an image processing device capable of generating appropriate image data suitable for the purpose of use, depending on a shooting direction, and outputting and recording the image data. SOLUTION: The imaging device includes a direction information acquiring means for acquiring direction information indicating a shooting direction of an input image, and a direction determining means for determining whether an imaging unit 101 is directed to an object to be supervised or an object to be appreciated, depending on the direction information acquired by the direction information acquiring means. The imaging device also includes a process control means for controlling a camera image processing unit 102 based on the result of determination by the direction determining means.
