PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide MIMO receiving method and MIMO receiver which reduce deterioration of detection characteristics resulting from interstream interference. SOLUTION: The MIMO receiver 100 which receives a plurality of transmission streams transmitted from a transmission side through a plurality of antennas is provided with an interference replica signal producing unit 111 which produces an interference replica signal; an interference removing unit 112 which separates the receiving signal into signal components corresponding to respective transmission streams employing the interference replica signal; detecting units 113, 114 which operate logarithmic posterior probability of each bit and a decoding unit 117 which decodes the receiving signal employing the logarithmic posterior probability. The signal after removing the interstream interference of the receiving signal is detected by the detecting units 113, 114, so that the detection characteristic can be close to the detection characteristics in single stream communication.
