PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head-mounted display with improved user-friendliness. SOLUTION: The head-mounted display comprises a head-mounted portion, a display portion 6 arranged in front of one of user's eyes for observation, an arm portion 8 for coupling the head-mounted portion to the display portion 6, and a first and a second linking mechanisms 9 and 10. A holding portion 4 is a part of the head-mounted portion. The first linking mechanism 9 couples the holding portion 4 to the base end of the arm portion 8, so that the arm portion 8 can be rotated in the rotating directionθx1 around an axis X1 with respect to the holding portion 4 and the arm portion 8 can be positioned with respect to the holding portion 4. As for rotation of the display portion 6 with respect to the arm portion 8 in the rotating directionθx2 around an axis X2, which corresponds to rotation of the arm portion 8 in the rotating directionθx1, the second linking mechanism 10 is configured to freely position the display portion 6 in continuous location within a predetermined adjustment range for positioning while observing the display portion 6.
