PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate with an electrode capable of restraining warping, by enhancing strength of a PDP front substrate. SOLUTION: In this glass substrate with the electrode, the electrode 20 is formed on the glass substrate 10 having a linear expansion coefficient of 80×10<SP>-7</SP>to 86×10<SP>-7</SP>/°C, and the electrode 20 is covered with a first glass layer 1 having a linear expansion coefficient of 70×10<SP>-7</SP>to 85×10<SP>-7</SP>/°C and the Li<SB>2</SB>O content of 0 to 2.5% in mol%, and a second glass layer 2 having a linear expansion coefficient of 60×10<SP>-7</SP>to 80×10<SP>-7</SP>/°C, including B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>by 35 to 50%, SiO<SB>2</SB>by 24 to 42%, ZnO by 5 to 23%, Li<SB>2</SB>O+Na<SB>2</SB>O+L<SB>2</SB>O by 8 to 16% and Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>by 0 to 4% and setting B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>+SiO<SB>2</SB>+Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>to 65% or more, is formed on its glass layer 1, and a fracture toughness value of the glass layer 2 is set larger than that of the glass layer 1.
