PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly process an image file as efficiently using a memory resource, in an image data processor reading data from a storage medium the image file as the data of a class unit and processing them, and an image data processing method. SOLUTION: FAT (File Allocation Table) information stored in a memory card is read, and arrangement information of clusters inside the memory card is created about the image file that is a processing target. In a first creation processing mode, numbers of the clusters constituting the image file are listed to be set as the arrangement information. In a second creation processing mode, a set of first numbers of the continuous clusters and a continuous number are listed to be set as the arrangement information.
