PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a person standing behind a user from sneaking a look when the user inputs such significant information as a password. SOLUTION: This automatic teller machine for conducting the transaction of cash by inputting a password unique to a user principal is provided with: an input part 1 for inputting a password; a hand detection sensor 6 for detecting the hand of a user who inputs the password; an irradiation part 5 arranged in the periphery of the input part 1 for irradiating the user with flash rays of light to a prescribed direction; and a control part 101 for controlling the emission of the flash rays of light by controlling the irradiation part 5 when the hand of the user is detected by the hand detection sensor 6.
