PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver-oxide based electrical contact material which is In-free and is excellent in deposition resistance, wear resistance and the like. SOLUTION: The silver-oxide based electrical contact material is obtained by subjection Ag alloy having the composition consisting by wt.% of 4.0-9.0% Sn, 1.5-4.5% Cu, 0.1-3.0% Zn, 0.1-0.8% Te and the balance Ag with inevitable impurities, to internal oxidation. Consequently, the coagulation of the Cu oxide is inhibited with Zn and Cu oxide is precipitated with high dispersibility. The deposition resistance is improved by Te and also an internal oxidation promotion effect is achieved, and thus even for little Cu content, the sufficient internal oxidation is achieved.
