PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycondensed resin which is prepared using a polycondensation reaction cocatalyst enhancing the catalyst activity power of a titanium compound and effective for shortening a reaction time, is a low coloration degree, and has good chargeability for preventing the generation of fogging also when used as a binding resin for toners, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a polycondensed resin formed by polycondensing raw material monomers in the presence of a titanium compound represented by formula (A): Ti(Z)<SB>4</SB>(wherein, Z is a 2-28C alkoxy group which may have a substituent, a 2-28C alkenyloxy group which may have a substituent, or a 2-28C acyloxy group which may have a substituent) and a pyrogallol compound having a benzene ring whose adjacent three hydrogen atoms are substituted with three substituents, and to a method for producing the same.
