PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound having an excellent controlling effect on a noxious arthropod. SOLUTION: A thiadiazole compound is represented by formula (I) (wherein R is hydrogen, a 1-7C chain hydrocarbon group which may be substituted or the like; Z is oxygen or sulfur; X is a group of -NR2R3or the like; R2and R3are each hydrogen, a 1-4C alkyl group, a 3-4C alkenyl group, a 1-4C alkoxy group or a phenyl group or R2and R3bind to each other at the ends thereof to form a 2-7C alkanediyl group) and has an excellent controlling effect on a noxious arthropod.
