The method involves determining objectively measurable factors e.g. loudness, sharpness, pitch strength, amplitude or frequency modulation. The measurable factors are multiplied with a constant regression coefficient. The multiplication results are added with each other to a comparison value, which expresses quality rating of the noise. The regression coefficient is determined based on uniquely implemented audiometry. The comparison value is added to a constant for correction. Individual factors are not considered when the regression coefficient is very small.
