The method involves hydraulically realizing a locking movement and/or opening movement of two clutches (K1, K2), and hydraulically controlling the clutches by respective control valves (4, 5). Actual pressure lying on a hydraulic system is detected in case of failure of a pressure sensor (3) while one of the control valves is opened and one of the clutches is hydraulically loaded. Size of a clutch actuator is determined, and the pressure in the hydraulic system is calculated from the determined size.
