<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a color filter easily with high pattern accuracy and productivity while reducing the number of processes. <P>SOLUTION: Exposure is performed from the back face of a glass substrate whose surface is coated with a photosensitive composition 3, to form lyophilic exposure parts 5 and liquid repellent non-exposure parts 6 on the surface of the glass substrate 1, and the exposure parts 5 are developed with colored liquid 7 to manufacture the color filter. A photosensitive composition composed of polysilane and a siloxane compound is used as the photosensitive composition 3. In the manufacturing method, a black matrix 2 is formed on the surface, and a coating layer of the photosensitive composition 3 is formed in a region not formed with the black matrix 2.
