PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten an ignition time of wood pellets. SOLUTION: In this pellet stove, when wood pellets for ignition supplied into a lower pipe 21 are carried to the upper face of a grate 32 by a lower screw 22, the lower screw 22 is rotated to one side around an axis line and to the other side around the axis line by a plurality of times alternately. Thus, the wood pellets in the lower pipe 21 are alternately carried to one end side and to the other end side of the lower pipe 21 by a blade 22B of the lower screw 22. Accordingly, during the carrying, by a collision etc. between the wood pellets, they are crushed. Then, when the lower screw 22 is rotated to one side of the axis line, the crushed wood pellets (wood pellets for ignition) are carried to the upper face of the grate 32 and ignited by an electric heater 34.
