PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthetic fiber which little deteriorates a water-repelling performance, even when repeatedly washed, has an excellent water-repelling performance, and has mechanical physical properties such as a strength and an elongation capable of resisting to practical use. SOLUTION: The polyester fiber includes a polyester composition having the content of a 15-23C water-repelling component obtained by adding carboxyl groups or hydroxyl groups to both the ends of an alkylene group, in a range of 10-30 wt.% based on the weight of the polyester composition, and a fabric is obtained using the polyester fibers.
