Provided is an airbag device capable of inflating and expanding an airbag body sufficiently even if an inflator of a low output is used. The airbag device comprises the airbag body (6) which can be inflated and expanded in its entirety into a bag shape, and the inflator (5) for injecting a burned compressed gas to inflate and expand the airbag body (6). This airbag body (6) includes two side-face expanding chambers (21) for forming two side-face portions when the airbag body (6) is inflated and expanded, a transverse expanding chamber (22) to be inflated and expanded to space the two side-face expanding chambers (21) when the airbag body (6) is inflated and expanded, a main constricting chamber (23) to be formed between the two side-face expanding chambers (21) when the airbag body (6) is inflated and expanded, and ambient air introducing holes (24) for introducing the ambient air into the main constricting chamber (23). The inflator (5) injects the burned compressed gas into the side-face expanding chambers (21) and the spacing chamber (22). |
