<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform canceling of a settlement using electronic money in a terminal other than a terminal through which the settlement is performed. <P>SOLUTION: When the settlement is canceled, information for a sale related to the settlement is read from a receipt issued at the time of settlement for a canceling object, and sales information stored at the time of settlement is retrieved with the read information for the sale related to the settlement.
