<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing steel member, even in a severe use environment, having satisfactory durability to breakage caused by rolling fatigue and capable of securing an excellent rolling fatigue life. <P>SOLUTION: The bearing steel member has chemical components comprising 0.6 to 1.2% C, 0.1 to 0.8% Si, 0.1 to 1.5% Mn,≤0.03% P,≤0.010% S, 0.5 to 2.0% Cr,≤0.005% Al,≤0.0005% Ca and≤0.0020% O, and the balance Fe with impurities, and, in which, regarding nonmetallic inclusions, the average composition of oxides is composed of, by mass, 10 to 60% CaO,≤20% Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>,≤50% MnO and≤15% MgO, and the balance SiO<SB>2</SB>with impurities, and further, the value of the arithmetic average of the maximum thickness of the oxides and the arithmetic average of the maximum thickness of the sulfides present in the area of 100 mm<SP>2</SP>at the 10 places of the longitudinal section in the longitudinal direction of the steel member is≤8.5μm, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
