PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automobile tire chain excellent in an installing property to a tire and in an operating property and guaranteeing anti-skid performance. SOLUTION: A plurality of chains 18 are constituted by repeating a unit pattern, the unit pattern is constituted by including the vertical chain 18B extending in the longitudinal direction on a center in the cross direction and the diagonal chain 18A an inner end of which is connected to this vertical chain 18B, extending diagonally outward and connected to side members 11, 12 and the vertical chain 18B is set less than 1/2 of length of a tire grounding part in the central line direction at specified tire pneumatic pressure on this tire chain for the automobile constituted by spreading a plurality of the chains 18 between a pair of the side members 11, 12.
