PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ozone generation element in which corrosion of an induction electrode and a discharge electrode can be inhibited and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The induction electrode 16 is placed so as to be opposed to the discharge electrode 14. A dielectric substrate 12 is interposed between the discharge electrode 14 and the induction electrode 16. A resistive layer 18 is interposed between the discharge electrode 14 and the induction electrode 16 and comprises a material having higher resistance than the materials of the discharge electrode 14 and the induction electrode 16. The resistive layer 18 is set in such a way that when seen from the normal direction of a principal surface of the dielectric substrate 12, it overlaps a position where the outer edge of the discharge electrode 14 and the outer edge of the induction electrode 16 cross each other.
