PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner for electrostatic charge image development, the toner responding to high resolution and high grayscale. SOLUTION: The toner for electrostatic charge image development is characterized in that: the toner includes a toner resin composition containing at least a binder resin which is a styrene-(meth)acrylate copolymer, a colorant and a ketone compound expressed by general formula (I); the volume average particle diameter of the toner ranges from 4 to 9μm; particles having particle diameters of not more than 40% of the volume average particle diameter are included by not more than 9.0% in number of the whole particles; and the toner is manufactured by a polymerization method.
