PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video projection device whose light source can be prevented from flickering or dying out. SOLUTION: A rear projection television includes: a current measuring section measuring the electric current value flowing to the light source; and a current tolerance calculating section calculating the difference between the electric current value measured by the current measuring section and the minimum driving current value for the light source. By preventing undershoot of the electric current caused by the change of video scenes, flickering or dying out of the light source can be suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
