PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a band cutting device having a band holding portion capable of preventing snapping of a band by strongly constraining the band when the band is cut, and a band cutting device having a band holding portion with an extremely simple structure. SOLUTION: The band cutting device A includes a band cutting portion 10, and a band holding portion 20 pivotably attached to the band cutting portion 10. A rail member 22 is provided below the band holding portion 20. At the left and right side ends of the rail member 22, band gripper moving means 25 and 26 for moving two band grippers 23 and 24 to a center direction, respectively, are attached. The band grippers 23 and 24 move to the center direction to go under the band 50 to pick up both sides of the band 50.
