PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contribute to the molding of a good article by preventing air from being entrained into a molten resin which has been weighed and is stored on the front end side of a screw in a metering step in the molding by an injection molding machine. SOLUTION: In the in-line screw type injection molding machine, until the rotating speed of the screw reaches a set rotating speed after the metering step is started, the screw is made to hold a metering start position. After timing when the rotating speed of the screw reaches the set rotating speed, while back pressure applied to the screw is so controlled as to hold a set pressure value, the screw is so controlled as to retreat as the molten resin is supplied to the tip side of the screw by the rotation of the screw.
