The partition (2) between the engine compartment (4) and the interior (3) of a motor vehicle (1) is constructed as a structured preformed part of aluminum and is integrated into body support structure (11) consisting of aluminum. The partition has a multi-chamber structure consisting of at least two adjoining chambers. The partition is fastened to at least one support element (12,13,17,20) of the body support structure by welding and/or by riveting and/or by a threaded connection.
