EXHAUST EMISSION CONTROL DEVICE FOR DIESEL ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately determine deterioration of a catalyst, by accurately grasping a combustion characteristic of PM captured in a DPF carrying the catalyst thereon.

SOLUTION: An exhaust emission control device of a diesel engine 1 has the DPF 13 carrying the catalyst thereon and disposed in an exhaust passage 10. The exhaust emission control device includes a deterioration determination means 9 determining the deterioration of the catalyst. The deterioration determination means 9 determines the deterioration of the catalyst based on a parameter for deterioration determination indicating the degree of deterioration of the catalyst and a threshold valve for deterioration determination set on the basis of an oxidation reaction rate of the PM accumulated in the DPF 13.
