PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a discharge lamp capable of reducing a risk of blowout. SOLUTION: Beads 6 are composed of an inner cylinder part 26 and an outer cylinder part 28. The outer cylinder part 28 has a through hole 41 in which the inner cylinder part 26 can be inserted. The cap 9 side of the through hole 41 has an inner tapered part on which the tapered part 9d of the cap 9 abuts by being inserted therein. A molybdenum foil 30 is wound around the inner cylinder part 26 and is inserted in the outer cylinder part 28. The thickness of the individual member can be reduced by forming the radial direction of the beads by two members. The molybdenum foil 30 is provided between the two members. Accordingly, even if distortion by heat increases when using it, stress generated from the distortion can be prevented from being propagated to the outer cylinder part 28.
