PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold clamping device generating a clamping force with an electromagnet and allowing an attempt of an appropriate space saving. SOLUTION: The mold clamping device generates a clamping force with an electromagnet and has an electromagnet retaining member retaining the electromagnet and an attractive member which opposes the electromagnet retaining member and moves relatively in the mold opening/closing direction with respect to the electromagnet retaining member, through the attractive force of the electromagnet.
