An audio conference system comprises a controller, microphones, and antennas for connecting the controller and the microphones by radio communication. The controller has utterance permitting means for transmitting utterance permission instruction information to a microphone in response to utterance request instruction information received from the microphone and utterance inhibiting means for transmitting utterance inhibition instruction information to the other microphones in response to utterance inhibition request instruction information received from the microphone. Each microphone has utterance requesting means for transmitting to thecontroller, a speech signal inputted after the microphone transmits utterance request instruction information to the controller and receives utterance permission instruction information from the controller and utterance stopping means for stopping transmission of a speech signal to the controller when receiving utterance inhibition instruction information from the controller. The audio conference system allows the chair of a conference to inhibit all utterances of the other attendances at the time. |
